.. Try the Last known good configuration from the Safe Mode Options.
.. If Last good config doesn't help, go to Start\Run\and type "msconfig" and
enter, click on the Startup tab and uncheck unknown or suspicious programs,
normal/system programs are the antivirus, office shortcut bar, messenger,
ctfmon.
.. Next go to Start\Run\type regedit and hit enter... go to the registry and
delete malicious registry values in the "Run" keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run...
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run... to
delete unknown and most likely malicious registry values use the same
criteria as in msconfig.
.. Scan your system in safe mode with anti-spyware programs and an updated
antivirus, and do an online virus scan (open the google search page and type
"online virus scan" do several scans if necessary)... [Use Safe mode with
networking to scan online].
.. Also delete cookies and temporary Internet files from the buttons in
Control Panel\Internet Options\General.
.. Also see what problems are registered in the Event Viewer...
(Start\Control Panel\Management Tools\Event Viewer),
.. See in the taskmanager (right click on the taskbar and click on
taskmanager)
.. Install a program like Process Explorer to see abnormal running processes

You can try to run msconfig from the run dialog box and troubleshoot the
system that way, or try the last known good configuration in safe mode
options when you turn on your computer
