I have a computer running Vista Ultimate after about 10 minutes it drops the
internet connection and the only way to get back onto the internet is to be
boot the computer. That usually lasts for another 10 minutes or so.

Can any one help

Sounds like compatible issue. Do you have latest firmware for the router or
drive for the NIC? Or this link may help.
