Directx install failure

My directx files have become corrupted. I tried to update to 9.0b, but
get the error that the files didn't pass the "logo testing" and the
install aborts. The same when trying to re-install the 9.0a. I did run
Kelly's directx.reg fix, however, it has no affect. Does anyone know
of a different work around?

What is the exact error you get from DirectX install? Also, what video card
are you using - do you have the latest drivers?
