I can copy text from the remote machine to my local machine; but cannot copy
entire files.

Is there a way to copy files using the Remote Desktop Connection?

Thanks in advance!

Yes - you change the client so that it grants access to the remote machine
for your hard disk drives.
Options --> Local Resources --> Drives...

I believe you are thinking of drag/drop and/or Copy/Paste or Cut/Paste...
That ONLY works for text through remote desktop. For files, you have to
have the drives 'listed' and browse, select and copy like you would any
network/external drive.
