I got this computer off of a guy who used it for gaming, he has programs in
the computer I dont want and cant get off and some of the original programs
dont seem to work like the musicmatch jukebox. I just want to start fresh and
I dont want to be able to find any trace of previous memory. I want it to be
like new. I dont have a cd write drive or a floppy but he gave me all the cds
I need supposedly to re install if need be.

With second-hand computers, especially if acquired from strangers
but perhaps even if acquired from a family member or friend, your wisest
course of action would definitely be to format the hard drives and start
fresh. You don't want to get in trouble because the original owner may
have filled the hard drive with kiddie porn, or have problems because
the original owner downloaded/installed viruses or other malware.

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

yeh, he must have
given it to you for some reason and likely
you acquired someone else's problem/headache...

but my suggestion would be to upgrade it
with a cd r/w

then buy yourself a copy of windows if
he didn't include the genuine cd with the pc....

as mentioned, you don't know what you have
acquired. and there isn't much room to do any house
cleaning if you do not have the tools mentioned above....
