My Computer folder problems when Folders pane is displayed

If I try to display the Folders pane from My Computer when logged in as a
standard user, it closes down. If I am logged in as an administrator, the
Folders pane displays, but flashes as if refreshing very frequently.
The cause of the problem seems to be a folder called 'Image Folder'. As an
administrator, if I click on this folder, the flashing stops. If logged in as
a standard user, the 'Folders' pane is ok if the 'Image Folder' is not
visible (for example, if I go in to 'My Documents', the Folders pane is ok
until I expand the My Computer node). Any ideas how I can get the folders
pane to display properly?
