My wife was using our laptop earlier today when it spontaneously rebooted.
After reboot, an error screen window labeled "Install Windows" came up with
the following message:" The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an
unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows,
click OK to restart the computer, then restart the installation.

We have rebooted many times and it always returns to this window.
If I turn the power off and then reboot, the safe mode screen comes up, but
the a window comes up in safe mode that says software cannot be installed in
safe mode and I have to exit.

I tried to boot from restore point off of the hard drive as well as use the
repair function...both lead immediately to the Install Windows window.

I tried to boot from the boot DVD that came with the computer...no luck
there...it just hangs on a block screen for an hour.

My wife was not downloading anything at the time...just checking her e-mail.

Your laptop has probably had a hardware failure. Contact the laptop
mftr. for repair/replacement.
