Post subject: Seeing Computer But Not Shared Printer
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>print_fax (more info?)

I have a W2K computer with a shared printer. Using an XP computer, I can
browse for a printer and see the computer but cannot expand the computer to
see the shared printer. I can see other computers on the network and can
expand them to see their shared printers. I have a common user & pw on both
computers. I have "manually" connected to the printer by typing in the actual
computer name/IP address combo and it printed for a few days then stopped.
Could not get it tp print so I deleted the printer, redid the "manual" way,
it printed for a few days then stopped again. Done this too many times to
keep doing it! I have checked firewall settings on the host computer, etc.
and it seems fine. As stated, I have actually printed to this printer and can
again if I manually go through the Wizard but I can't keep doing it this way.
Workgroup names are the same, same IP scheme and subnet, etc. I know it will
be some simple service not started, etc. but can't figure it out! Thanks
