Post subject: Change default file view
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>customize (more info?)
How do I change the default file view to show details in
Windows Explorer. Can I also change this in Excel XP when
I open a file? The current view shows icons and this is
driving me nuts!

Hi

In Windows Explorer - View>Details - then go to Tools>Folder Options>View and click on 'Apply to All Folders'. Re-start Windows Explorer.

When you go to open an Excel file click on the 'Views' icon and select Details.
