Post subject: CD and DVD Drive not found
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>hardware_devices (more info?)

I upgraded to Vista and now I don't have use of my CD Drive or DVD Drive. It
does not find it in the device manager and I already did delete the upper and
lower filters. I went out and bought an external USB hard drive which is
doing the trick for now. I reinstalled windows Vista and that did not help.
I don't seem to be able to format my hard drive back to the original computer
settings because this is not the original hard drive that came in the
computer. Any ideas on how to get back us of my CD and DVD Drives on my home
computer would be muchly appreciated.
