Post subject: Big problem with Vista:( Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>performance_maintenance (more info?)
Hi,
When i start up my vista has problems loading things and can pause. Yet
sometimes it lets you log on, but when you log after 20 seconds it can
freeze(but the arrow moves around the screen). I can get on safe mode
perfectly(I am using now). This is the second time it happened, and the
1st time i had to format, and i am not willing to do that again.
If you have any questions for more details please ask.

I have a friend who had a similar problem, and she had to hand her
laptop into the shop to get fixed:(

Aww, . Well it's under warranty, but i dont wanna send it back... So
if anyone can help within a few days, or i will send it back
Reverting to XP from Vista problem - A friend has just bought a new Dell PC and ordered it with XP and not Vista. When the PC arrived it was fitted with Vista so he phoned the help line who said they would supply CDs to install XP. They duly arrived but not being very OK with computers he..
Vista Requirments - My understanding is that Vista will have flashier graphics, which of course demand flashier hardware to support it. Will Vista allow one do disable those features and run with a more prosaic interface for those who don't want to spend resources for..

VISTA Hype - Seems many users are realizing Vista is just a "more pretty looking" version of XP PRO. LOL, and it only costed most of you $200 or so... nice aint it?
Some vista questions - How much Ram use is normal for Vista? Basically even sitting at the desktop im seeing 50% of physicall memory usage. the system has 1gig in it right now, with no open slots. -- edgar12
