I am working on WinXP Pro (SP2). I have disabled Automatic Updates
from Control Panel since I prefer doing it manually. Because I have
disabled Automatic Updates, an icon (looks like a shield with a X in
between & red in color) always appears next to the time in the
Taskbar.
How do I get rid of that icon from there?
I tried ending the process by opening Task Manager & after selecting
wscntfy.exe, right-clicked it & clicked both "End Process" & "End
Process Tree" but it doesn't make any difference. The process gets
terminated for less than a second & re-appears in the Task Manager &
the icon too re-appears in the Taskbar. |
