Hi. I have two computers - a desktop and a laptop - both run on XP Home.
Recently I loaded Adobe CS (a suite of 6 programs) onto both machines. All
of the programs work well on the desktop, but on the laptop one of the CS
programs (InDesign) doesn't load properly. I spent a couple of hours on the
phone with Adobe only to discover that what is happening is that InDesign is
loading onto a different User Account than my main (default) account. When
starting the laptop in Safe Mode, two Administrator accounts appear -
prompting me to choose one. When I click on Administrator (main, not the
default one that opens when Windows boots up) I found that if I opened
InDesign via this user account (in safe mode), the program opens and runs
fine. But because this isn't my main (default) user account - the only way i
can use InDesign is to reboot into Safe Mode and select the main Admin
account. This is not efficient at all. I've tried deleting this account,
reloading InDesign (even in Safe Mode), but the account still appears and
InDesign keeps defaulting to it. All of the other 5 programs in Adobe CS work
fine in the default user account (the one that boots with windows). So far,
Adobe is stumped - and they say it's a Microsoft issue. Of course. Microsoft
says its an Adobe Issue.
Either way, i'm totally stuck.
Please help. Thanks.
