Hi!

I have a brand new Axim x51v with WM5 and AS 4.1. OS is Windows XP Pro
with all patches/updates applied.

The cradle is connected via USB to my Dell Notebook. Everything is
running with AC connected.

When I boot my notebook and my Axim is in the cradle AS recognizes the
device and everything is fine. When I decide that my Axim should be off
(while in the cradle) AS disconnects (thats fine!) but does not
reactivate when I press the power button on the Axim.

So:

Suspending the Axim while in the cradle = reboot the notebook to have AS
running.
This is even more anoying: all my USB devices (external HD, USB Stick,
MP3 Player etc. ) are no longer recognized! They keep working if they
are plugged in before but after the "suspend the Axim" thing they no
longer work! Only a reboot helps. Seems AS + Axim kills my USB hubs "new
device detection" function ..

Any ideas? USB drivers are the one's shipped with Windows.

TIA,

What ROM version do you have? I've also frequently switch off my x51v
(English, A06 ROM) while cradled but have never run into this problem.

Did you try the fake server trick - or, the free mail2web account (please
see http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=117271 for more info on
the latter)? The problem may be related to it (and would also make sure
your PDA stays suspended.)

I disconnected all devices - nothing helped. Powerconsumption is low -
the USB hub is self powered. I tried to use the notebooks direct USB
ports - same problem.

Device Manager has no yellow exclamation marks. I tried to disable the
USB hub and reenable it but when I click "Disable device" the MMC hangs
and I need to reboot....

Best regards,

I have A01 German. Seems to be the latest German ROM release (according
to Dell's Support Site, released around 20th Jannary 2006).
Btw, I have a brand new Windows XP installation because AS (or the PDA)
killed my previous setup *grrrr*

Yes I tried the fake server trick. Is there some possibility to check if
it worked? I will look now at the second one ..
