Mainly because you run most applications from the desktop to install them on
the PPC.
Perhaps you should take some time, grab a cup or glass of your favorite
beverage, and read the owners manual that came with your PPC. You would be
surprised at how much you can learn by reading it.

Hi

This properly because it is not a valid pocket pc application, due to errors
in the file or maybe it is a setup file for the application that needs to be
run from the desktop?

Please check the following:
- that you are running the installer program on your PC rather than on your
handheld device
- that you have the correct version of the application installer program for
your device's processor

The problem you are having is most likely caused by the fact that a setup
program is run from a PC that will install to the PPC the .cab files and then
the PPC launches the .cab files locally. The work around is if you want to
install something on the PPC is to copy the .cab files to your PPC and double
click it to start the intstall process locally.....
