While MS Reader initiates rapidly, it takes 40-60 seconds to access the
cover page of a book and 30 seconds or longer to open the first page.

I have Mobile 5 on an Axim X50V. The Reader and books are on a CF card. I
also installed the most recent update. I also read books on Mobipocket which
works perfectly and is also stored on the CF card.
