I am trying to activate MS Reader on my Treo 700w, but I am receiving an
error because it says I have an older version of Pocket PC. Any idea how I
can get around this?

See the thread "need MS Reader activation file". Apparently the activation
file for the current version of Pocket PC/Mobile Windows. They have you send
an e-mail to Christine and she sends you the beta activation file. If you
have problems, she walks you through and tweaks the installation.

All:

Just to clarify. This is NOT a beta file.

The files that I send are pulled directly off of previously shipped devices
by standard manufacturers. This is something that anyone can do. This is
not a file that Microsoft owns and distributes. I provide the OEMInfo.xml
file as a means to enable our customers who are blocked by this missing
file. We are currently working with the OEM's to provide this file through
their standard support channels. Once that happens I will no longer provide
this file but instead will point users to their OEM's to secure this file.

If you have this file located on your machine we ask that you please seek
further Microsoft Reader activation assistance through our official support
channel located here:

http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?LN=en-us&gprid=2748&x=9&y=5

On this website you can either find our toll free support number or an
address at which to email us. If the support representatives are unable to
resolve your issue you will eventually reach me or a member of my team for
further assistance with your issue.

We ask that you please follow this support channel so that we can accurately
track our Microsoft Reader issues and so that our Microsoft Reader staff can
focus on putting their efforts into continued Microsoft Reader development.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Christine - Microsoft Reader Team

I have e-mailed you (MS and you) and Palm over and over and over. I have
been trying to active my 700w for 3+ months to no avail. All you guys do is
point fingers at each other. I'm not mad, just frustrated with the complete
lack of a fix from either party. Please send me the fix. Smile It doesn't
matter to me who fixes it, just that someone works to fix it and provide the
fix to everyone that has a 700w. Thanks!!
