Hello All,
I am working on LSP on Windows Mobile 5.0 Emulator.
I have installed Visual Studio 2005 Beta, which has got emulator for Windows
Mobile 5.0. I am using LSP sample from Windows CE 5.0 (PB). As per
documentation LSP installation code is in DllRegisterServer which is a
exported function in the LSP Dll itself. I have also made necesary registry
entries. But after soft reset of emulator, lsp is not getting loaded. By
looking at the logs (in the lsp dll) I can say that my DllRegisterServer
function is not getting called.
Same code works fine on Pocket PC 2003 emulator on Visual Studio 2005...!
It means there is something on Windows Mobile 5.0 Emulator which is causing
the problem.
Any ideas? Did anybody tried installing LSP on Windows Mobile 5.0 Emulator?
I would appreciate any help in this regard.
Thanks a lot,
-Ajay |

you about the Visual Studio 2005 Beta, hope you will not mind.
Is Visual Studio 2005 Beta available for download from internet?, if so pls

creteria.
Thanks in advance.

Ajay,
Thanks much for you reply. I had seen those links, here is what I'm looking
for:
I'm looking for the "Mobile Device Support" in windows mobile 5.0. Which CD
should I order, should I go for "Windows Mobile 5.0 Developer Evaluation Kit"
or should I order the "Visual Studio Team Suit Cd".
Visual Studio Team Suit CD contains the "Visual Studio 2005 Team System"
version of Visual Studio 2005, where as Windows Mobile 5.0 developer
evaluation kit contains :
1. Windows Mobile 5.0 SDK for Pocket PC
2. Windows Mobile 5.0 SDK for Smartphone
3. Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2
4. ActiveSync version 4.0
5. Microsoft Device Emulator 1.0 Community Preview
6. Windows Mobile 5.0 and Visual Studio 2005 white papers and videos
7. Information regarding new Windows Mobile partnering opportunities
Any idea whether the "Visual Studio 2005 beta 2" which is included in the
Windows mobile 5.0 evaluation kit contains the "Mobile Device Support"?
The Windows Mobile 5.0 developer Evaluation kit has shipping cost as $10,
where as the "Visual Studio 2005 Team System" CD costs $20.
Any other link or site from where I can download the version of Visual
Studio 2005 for free? (I'm not the MSDN Subscriber either).
Thanks in advance.

You can order Windows Mobile 5.0 Developer evaluation Kit. It will include
everything (also VC2005 Beta) you would need to develop applications for
Windows Mobile 5.0.

LSPs should work on the emulator. WM 5.0 introduces a trust model, are you
sure your LSPs are signed to run trusted?

Thanks Igor for your reply. I just built the sample LSP code. It works on
PPC 2003, but same does not work on WM 5.0. I have no idea about LSP
signing. How to do it?
