Post subject: Directshow performance on PocketPC
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>pocketpc>developer (more info?)

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of any performance issues in using
Directshow on Windows Mobile 6. Specifically, I would like to run a
viewfinder and allow for still image capture.
Running a test application which simply starts a viewfinder, I'm seeing CPU
utilization of about 30%. The 'Pictures and Videos' application with a
similar sized viewfinder shows a CPU utilization of 12-15% on the same
platform. I believe this application is also using Directshow.
Does anyone know of something it might be doing differently? Or are there
any Directshow settings which may dramatically affect CPU usage in this
scenario? Any info on optimizing a preview window would be greatly
appreciated.
