Friend has Treo 750 with WM6 Professional 6 and ActiveSync 4.5 installed.

Upon sync, the dates on his TREO are correct but on the computer the dates
are one day earlier.

He enters all his data on his TREO then syncs with his PC.

Help..

Are these all day events? (Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc.) This can
happen if the time zones on the device and PC do not match. The "all
day" (12am-11:59pm) appintment on the device might be shifting to an 11pm
(the previous day) to 10:59pm appointment.

All the incorrect dates are infact ALL DAY Events.

Both the phone and pc are set for the same time zone (-5GMT)

Downloaded and installed DST patch for WM 6

Downloaded and installed DST Patch for Outlook (using Outlook 2002)

any further ideas?

TIA,

BL

Just confirm the time zones names are identical. (E.g. "Eastern US GMT-5"
isn't the same as "Indiana -5" or "Bogota -5") Also, for good measure,
disable auto Time/Zone update on the Treo and resync to get the correct time
from the PC. I've seen mobile operators send some pretty weird times and
zones to handle DST. T-Mobile, my operator, used to move me from US
Mountain Time GMT-7 to Saskatchewan GMT-6 every summer as their way of
setting time ahead an hour!

If that isn't the issue, you can use one of my old kludges- when I traveled
a lot I got in the habit of changing my All Day events to long events- e.g.
8AM to 9PM. This way when I flew from Denver to Boston, my device's All Day
events didn't shift to 2AM-2AM events spanning two days- they just shifted
from 10AM-11PM. (This also solved the problem of being awakened at 11:45PM
if I forgot to disable the default 15 minute reminder when creating an all
day event!) Wink

I'd delete and recreate the partnership first- I don't think reinstalling
AS will do anything. My guess is this problem has something to do with
Outlook. Maybe a "Detect and repair" of the PST?

I generally just do it from the device, but on the PC it's File > Delete
Mobile Device.
