Post subject: Connecting to SQL Server when host is unplugged
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>pocketpc>developer>networking (more info?)

Hi

I am trying to connect to a pc's sql server from a pocket pc (connected
to the pc via a usb cable, using activesync), but the pc won't have a
network connection. I would usually try connect to the sql server using
the pc's ip address, but since there is no network connection, there
wont be an ip address to continue.

I tried adding the Microsoft Loopback adapter on the pc, with no success.

Anyone got any suggestions?

The pc is running XP Professional if its any help.

Thanks

Gareth
