I seem to not quite understand how to operate the Bluetooth
functionality of my Samsung Sway SCH-U650. My goal is to transfer
files both ways between the phone and the laptop computer.
Unfortunately the manual is completely useless in this regard.
I have managed to join the two devices but cannot figure out how to
copy/move files either way. What is the proper profile to use for this
function?
A nicety would be to import the Outlook calendar onto the phone's
calendar utility but I fear that is merely a dream. |

I was unable to transfer files from my Samsung Alias2 phone to my pc via bt,
as well, but I believe that the phone just doesn't support the type of BT
needed to make the transfer |

It may be a Samsung thing. I have actually been in touch with Samsung
about BT on my Katalyst (quad-band GSM phone - T-Mobile USA is the
carrier). I thought maybe T-Mobile had disabled some features on the
phone, but the choice to only support Bluetooth handsfree/headset
profiles was actually made by Samsung, not T-Mo.
Your mileage may vary, since you have a different phone and wireless
company...

If you bought the phone at a Verizon store, it may be crippled! Verizon
would just love to make you pay to transfer files from your phone to
your computer and vice versa! If Verizon crippled your phone, you can
probably uncripple it at the cost of voiding your warranty!
A Samsung specific group, if there is one, might be able to provide
directions! |

Most phones, especially Verizon's firmware, only support BT headsets, most
not even A2DP stereo phones.
Verizon sells data by the byte. If they let you use some BT gateway for
data transfers, it bypasses their revenue stream and control, completely.
Pfat Chance.
