Post subject: Text messaging on ATTWS

I have a Nokia 6820 on GSM national plan.
Currently, it has a 140 character limit on incoming messages. With previous
carriers I had, this limit was much higher, or it would truncate the message
into 2 or 3 or as many as it needed to get the entire message.

Is this a phone limitation, or network limitation? Are there any ways to get
around this, on ATTWS?

SMS allows a total of one hundred sixty characters for GSM networks
which includes the subject, if any, and the From heading. Other
networks may have other message lengths. Some carriers will
automatically send extra characters as additional messages. See the
