Post subject: video card on my G4 DP 1.25 (hopefully in the right section)
Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>hardware>video (more info?)

hello everybody this is my first (serious!) post and I really hope
you could help me to understand this:
in the studio where I work we own a G4 MDD 1.25 DP 1GB RAM running
10.3.9 darwin 7.9.0 Logic 7 and Pro Tools 6.4 the video card is a
ATI RV250 64MB.
the other day one of the assistant was emptying the trash (there were
1.5 GB data) and the computer freezed up.
I walked in and held down the power button for several seconds.
the baby shut itself down and I waited few minutes..
decided to boot it up again but the screen did not come up at all...
so I reboot it (as in switched it off and back on again, because the
keyboard did not seem to work) and tried to reset the PRAM
(ALT+APPLE+P+R) but it did not work (i did not hear any start up
sound at all apart from the first one!), so I switched back off
again waited and did and Hardware reset (using the internal switch).
no luck, but the screen at least was showing some sort of weird still
lines in gray color.
did the hardware reset again and the computer came back to life...
after that I repaired disk permission etc...and now it seems to be
fine.
Did any of you had this problem before?I AM VERY concerned and
worried about it...
