I am new to code warrior. Could anyone please let me know why we need
to use a tab in the editor before we start writing the code? do we
really need it?

I haven't used CW in years, but I don't remember ever being required in
any version to start with a tab. Are you actually having to do this, or
have you just run across something that suggests that you're required
to, or ....?
