Tim-
This sounds almost like a job for an "easy out" except you would need a
very small one. I have heard they exist, but don't know where to find
one. The larger variety are available from various sources such as
Sears.

Can you get a small pair of vice grips to lock onto it long enough to
turn it and get it out?

On a similar situation, I was able to epoxy a small bolt to the top of
the stripped head and then gently eased it out. |

Have I ever seen the underside of a Mac laptop? You're kidding, right?
Don't be silly.
I wasn't sure whether the screws he was talking about were inside or not
is all.
Someone's in a foul mood on this fine Christmas day...

take a left hand drill bit (yes, they exist...no left hand screwdriver jokes), just
slightly larger than the torx hole, smear a big blob of vaseline on it (to catch
shavings), drill carefully and if you're lucky, it will screw out without much bother.

I'm never seen a stripped Torx head; usually the screw breaks or the
wrench does.
I'd first confirm you have the correct driver. Then I'd carefully clean
the surfaces with ether; and use a drop of superglue. It would help to
have a fixture to hold it for an hour to get a good bond.

If you just need to take the head off the screw a dremel will do the job
nicely with one of its small cone shaped grinding 'wheels'
