Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>system (more info?)

Morning.

I use Firefox 2.0.0.11 on MacOS X 10.5.1.

Before I've installed MacOS X 10.5 I've made a backup of my entire
internal startup volume to an external HDD. Then I've installed MacOS
X 10.5. After that I've immigrated by using the Migration-Assistant
of MacOS X the former user aa into the new installed MacOS X 10.5 as a
new user bb.

And all works fine but one thing doesn't:

Firefox tries to download files into /User/aa/Desktop but not into /
Users/bb/Downloads as defined in Prefs. /User/aa/Desktop was the given
destination in the former user aa installation but isn't the right
destination now. Firefox ignores every changes given now in the prefs
panel.

I've deleted now to find the harasser:

~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/
~/Library/Preferences/org.mozilla.firefox.plist
/Applications/Firefox.app

And reinstalled Firefox again from scratch. But the misbehaviour
persists: Firefox tries to download to /Users/aa/Desktop.

What can I do to urge Firefox to accept my settings?

TIA and kind regards, Friedrich

Despite similar efforts, I continue to have problems (not the same) with
FF (2.0.0.11) on my 867 GHz G4, OS 10.5.1, despite all efforts. But it
runs just fine on my Panther partition.
