I have a Sony all-in-one reader that I use and love for my other
cameras. It pre-dates the G9 and does not work with that camera card
though. One of these days I will get around to getting a new reader,
but we don't really use the G9 that much (I have a D5 and my wife has a
D40 for primary shooting).
Thus, I connect the G9 directly when importing into Lightroom. I was
surprised last night when I found that the G9 card does not show up on
the desktop to let me copy the files, though it can be read by Lightroom
fine.
Thus the question of how to extract the movies.
However, the bigger question is how to organize these clips. Right now
she only has half a dozen of them. I will be getting a D5 MK II next
month though, and between us, we will probably start gathering dozens or
even hundreds of these clips over the next couple years (as opposed to
tens of thousands of stills). What is a good organizational tool for
these movie clips?
