Any solution to remote stall after copying to clipboard?

I use RDC every day for my research and coding and I'm often having to
copy/cut/paste during this time. Whenever I do this in Windows (RDC),
it stalls (stops responding) for a random length of time (2-20 secs)
and creates a frustrating pause in my work. I'm often able to paste
within the Mac OS without a problem.

I've noticed that I'm not alone - there are many people here with this
same problem, but I don't see a solution. Anyone?

My specs: XP Pro, OSX 10.4.9, RDC 1.0.3

Also, whenever I try to print in RDC to my local network printer
(which does show up as a printer in XP), it crashes RDC and doesn't
print.
