If I check the "Grayscale" checkbox in the Quality & Media panel, I seem to
get B&W output. Until I run out of one of the color inks, then I get pink or
blue. It seems that the driver is not replacing the colors with black, but
balancing the colors to give (additive) black.
If I reduce each color (except black) to zero in the Color Options panel, I
get pink instead of white when a color runs out, except where black was
called for in the original image.
How do I print text and images using only black ink?
PowerBook G3/400; OS X 10.3.9; Canon driver v4.1.5; PIXMA iP3000
(FYI, the Cyan cartridge is empty.)
Thanks,
