The classic place for hidden screws is under rubber feet and labels,
so one ought to check there first.
It's often the case that the way to open something isn't obvious until
it is opened.
If one gives up on the screws, then using something like a cut-off wheel
in a "rotary tool" (ie something like a Dremel) could slice the unit open
along the seam. Then one can epoxy it back together afterwards. I've
done this with AC adaptors, giving them a little more life, but it doesn't
make for a really nice looking result.
