Is there an easy way to take apart the new flat imac keyboards??? Mine
took a dive (and has been replaced) and wouldn't mind putzing around
inside, but it looks like they were press fit and can't be taken apart
without a hammer Smile

You already answered your own question if looking for an "easy way".

I just gave mine a good examination and I think the hammer is the only
way. Please let us know how it goes.

The classic place for hidden screws is under rubber feet and labels,
so one ought to check there first.

It's often the case that the way to open something isn't obvious until
it is opened.

If one gives up on the screws, then using something like a cut-off wheel
in a "rotary tool" (ie something like a Dremel) could slice the unit open
along the seam. Then one can epoxy it back together afterwards. I've
done this with AC adaptors, giving them a little more life, but it doesn't
make for a really nice looking result.

Well, looking at the link form the first reply - there isn't much there
once you pry the aluminum off. doesn't look too exciting.

The old keyboard as a victim of 'the pepsi syndrome'. Usually you can
just wash them with rubbing alcohol and they're back up. Didn't work
with an apple keyboard though.

Too bad Apple doesn't take stuff back for recycling. I hat ejsut
tossing this much aluminum...

Surely there are other places you can recycle it.
