Post subject: iMac video out to HDMI on HDTV? Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>misc (more info?)

Hi...
I have an Intel iMac (1.83 gig, Intel Core Duo, iMac4,1). I THINK it
has an output on the back for a second video monitor...at least that's
what the icon next to it looks like. I'm guessing it automatically
mirrors whatever is on the main display onto a second display connected
to the back connector.
I have a HD TV in the same room as the iMac, and would like to set
things up so that I can see whatever's on the iMac on the big screen
HDTV. The HDTV has HDMI inputs.
I'm (obviously) not exactly sure what that connector is on the back of
the iMac. Is there a cable or adapter that I can get that will plug
into the iMac video connector on the back of the iMac (I assume that's
what it is) on one end, to an HDMI plug on the other end, suitable for
plugging in to the HDTV?
Thanks!

ONLY the HDMI? No others? YBF'ed.
MacTracker shows THIRTY different iMac models, thanks Steve.
But the "mid 2006 17 inch" one has a MiniDVI, which is DVI, VGA, or
S-Video.
It does do dual display, not just mirroring.

Google is your friend.
Get a DVI to HDMI cable. If your iMac did not come with a
Mini-DVI to DVI adaptor, then get one of those too (available in
Apple retail stores or the on-line Apple store.
