The time has come for me to sell the first Macintosh I ever bought. It's
also one of the best-behaved Macs I ever bought; in the 3.5 years I've
owned it, it has never once needed support or repairs. (And yes, I had
AppleCare on it for 3 years - it was just never needed.)
You get:
* iBook Dual USB G3-500MHz, 12.1" 1024x768 screen, 10GB HD, DVD-ROM,
FireWire, 10/100 ethernet.
* RAM maxed to 640MB.
* Airport (802.11b) wireless card.
* AC Adapter (round style - also works fine with newer block style).
* Mini-video to VGA adapter to run an external monitor.
* Second battery (acquired in 2003).
* Phone cord for built-in 56K modem.
* Lots-o-paperwork (setup/user guide, various license papers, etc.).
* Complete set of iBook OS X install CD's (7).
* Software Development Kit CD.
* iLife '04 CD (iTunes/iPhoto/iMovie).
* TechTools CD.
* Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar (2CD).
* Kensington "Apple One" laptop bag with shoulder strap.
This "Spring 2001" iBook (bought in the fall of 2001) shipped with OS X
10.0.3, but I also had a "Fall 2001" iBook which shipped with OS X
10.1.2, so I am including the newer install CD's with this one. (Trust
me, 10.1.2 was much better!) If for some reason you want the 10.0.3
install media, I'll throw it in at no extra cost.
Although this iBook only comes with Jaguar installed (10.2, fully
upgraded to 10.2.

it is completely ready for you to install more
recent versions of OS X - even 10.4 "Tiger," Apple's latest, greatest
operating system.
This iBook will not run software which requires a G4 or G5 processor, or
a processor faster than 500MHz. (Examples include GarageBand, which
requires 700MHz or so, and the video chat capabilities of iChat AV,
which require 600MHz. Audio chat works fine.) It also does not burn
optical discs. Other than that, it will do just about anything you throw
at it.
It'd be a great budget system for a writer, student, or traveler. If
you're interested, please contact me - the price is negotiable, and I
refuse to take more than $600 for it.
Thanks!
