Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>hardware>video (more info?)

I have a fairly modern supports-everything 20" monitor, and a WGS
8550/200 that I need to hook to it. The WGS has a DB-15
old-school-style Mac female video connector, whereas the new monitor
has a standard VGA on it. I did manage to find an interesting DB-15
_female_ to VGA _male_ from my old 7200, but that's the wrong way.

So do I need anything more than a straight adaptor? Does the 8500 put
out a proper signal that the monitor will understand? Or is there
something more complex, like sync-on-green?
