You can run both Entourage 2004 and Entourage 2008 at the same time, but I
wouldn't have them both downloading at the same time.
Don't delete Office 2004 when asked during the install of Office 2008. If
you need to export your data as individual files to move into Entourage 2008
you'll need to have it installed.
Installing Office for Mac 2008 (this was written when Office 2008 was first
released so some of it's out of date)

Empty Deleted Items folder. Verify that your data is good by exporting all
as Entourage archive (.rge) file. If it fails then you have some corruption
in your database.
