Updating from Office/Entourage 2004 to 2008

Okay, due to the Time Zone syncing issue that happened with Office
2004 after updating to Snow Leopard (everything shows up in iCal hours
later with no possible fix), I'm being forced to upgrade to Office
2008.

I know that I'm not allowed to RUN both version of Entourage at the
same time, but will 2004 be "un-openable" after updating? I'm
assuming that it will probably do something to the database, but I
wasn't sure if it would still be able to be opened in 2004 if need be
(with 2008 version closed, of course).

Is there anything that I need to do in Entourage to prepare for the
update?

Anyone have a resource link available for all of the differences
between the 2004 & 2008 version of Entourage?

Any help or advice would be appreciated. I haven't been able to sync
my calendar to MobileMe since August 30th! I really need to do this
update at the end of the weekend!

You can run both Entourage 2004 and Entourage 2008 at the same time, but I
wouldn't have them both downloading at the same time.

Don't delete Office 2004 when asked during the install of Office 2008. If
you need to export your data as individual files to move into Entourage 2008
you'll need to have it installed.

Installing Office for Mac 2008 (this was written when Office 2008 was first
released so some of it's out of date)

Empty Deleted Items folder. Verify that your data is good by exporting all
as Entourage archive (.rge) file. If it fails then you have some corruption
in your database.
