TacOps4 v406AA Mac Update Available

A new free update is avaiable for current TacOps4 owners which will bring
the program up to version 406AA. This update is available for both Windows
and Macintosh. The update includes a few bug fixes and the first ever
appearance of World War II unit types in TacOps4. An initial set of 138
unit types has been added for the period 1939 through 1942 for Australia,
France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the UK, and the US. It is expected
that more WWII unit types will be added in coming weeks and months via a
series of irregular free patches. See the TacOps forum at

A TacOps4 v406_AA update patch is now available from the following site.

The Windows patch is titled "TacOps_406AAu.zip".

The Macintosh patch is titled "TacOps_406AAu.sit".

If you do not see those filenames then hit the "Refresh" button on your web
browser.

A. Download and then Unzip or Unstuff the patch file for your OS.

B. Then read and carefully follow the instructions contained in the file
"Instructions & Copyright.txt". This is not an auto installer. You must
manually copy/move each file from the patch folder to a precise location in
your TacOps4 folder - so as to replace any files or folders of the same
name.

This patch is only for the retail editions of TacOps v403 through v405AU.
Do not apply this patch package to TacOps v3.x or to any military version of
TacOps - permanent damage will result. This patch is comprehensive for
TacOps v403 through v405AU so there is no need to retain or install any
previous patch.

v406AA Update

User request. Deleted use of Type1 maps. Provided Type2 versions of Maps
1 through 16.

User request. Added the "Civil Car Armored VIP" unit type.

User request. Adding the following WWII unit types.

Note. The new WWII unit types have not been researched or defined with the
same rigor as the contemporary unit types in TacOps. Users who may be
dissatisfied with a particular unit characteristic are invited to forward

Bug fix. The weapon photo for the US .50 sniper rifle was incorrect.

Bug fix. US MG 7.62mm coaxial (WID 1009) was wrongly able to fire as an
antiaircraft weapon.

Bug fix. US MG 7.62mm pintle (WID 1004) was wrongly unable to fire as an
antiaircraft weapon.

Bug fix. Program failed to provide an option to give ICM ammo to OPFOR
122mm off map artillery when using the Options/Change Artillery menu item.

Developer initiative. Revised and enhanced the Unit Data Base Report
window, the Weapon Data Base window, and the Add One Unit Window to include
basic information about a selected unit or weapon and a photo. Previously
the user had to open an additional window to see this information.

Developer initiative. Enhanced the "Change Units & Wpns" window with unit
type filter check boxes.

Developer initiative. Added "WWII" and "Post WWII" filter buttons to the
Unit Database window and the Add One Unit window
