Well, Steve was asking if it was possible the other way around
(from home to office), so I answered:

In your case, yes, in principle you can connect from any mac or pc
to your home pc. And because that would be a huge security risk
(*any* computer would be able to connect to your home network), the
default settings of most internet routers disable this traffic.
So you will have to configure your internet router to accept
incoming traffic on port 3389 and forward it to your home pc.
Note that you must set a secure password on all user accounts on
your pc, because when you open port 3389, all computers will be
able to try to connect.
