Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>hypercard (more info?)

Hi all

I have some 1990 vintage hypercard data (.sta extensions) that I used to
read with Plusrt.exe on a Windows machine (I assume they worked on the then
current Hypercard on the Mac too.) I've been trying to find a way to read
them using OSX, Classic or Windows XP. The last Hypercard reader wont open
them or Winpluse.exe and I can't find the 'old' windows program I used to
use.

Any ideas greatfully received.

Regards

Revolution will open HyperCard stacks directly on almost any OS,
including Windows. You can download the free trial which is good for 30
days:

<http://www.runrev.com>

Download the Windows version, and install. Then just choose "Open
stack" from the File menu and choose a HyperCard stack. You may get
some script errors when the stack opens, which is normal. If all you
want is access to the data, just dismiss the errors. Or if you know
enough about HyperCard scripting, you can fix them.

Hi Stephen,

I don't think that PlusRT is compatible with HyperCard. I
suggest you find someone who still has a copy of PlusRT. In the
mean time, I don't mind if you send me a small stack to see
whether I can do something with it. See my homepage for contact
info.

Best,

Mark
