I use RDC to connect from my Powerbook 12" into my office's Windows
network. All is good apart from the time. When I open RDC and then open
my Outlook, the time always reads wrong - 1 hour early. I go into
Control Panel > Date & Time to change the time to my time zone (GMT
London with Daylight Saving) and it's fine. But if I logout of RDC and
login again, the time has gone back to GMT liberia, without the
Daylight Saving. It's an annoying bug and I have to fix it manually
every time I open RDC. Anyone know of a fix. PS I use Entourage on my
Mac.

If you're connecting to a Windows Terminal server then the group policy
you're looking for is disabled by default and needs to be enabled.

Have a look at this page on Microsoft's site for more information
<http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windowsserver2003/library/D
epKit/ce300cba-f39a-48a9-b97f-88a7193f6a4c.mspx>.

Hope this helps! bill

The GPO that is enabled is so that it redirects time from the local
computer to be the time that is shown on the terminal server...this is
set so that international offices can view their time when in remote
desktop

What I don't know is where is the terminal server getting its time from
because my time (on my Mac in the right hand corner of the taskbar) is
correct

The time zone on the server determines the server's time as does the
time zone on your local computer. Are both of these correct for their
respective locations?

Also, if I am looking at this page correctly
<http://www.horlogeparlante.com/english/liberia_monrovia_32.php> it
doesn't appear that Liberia observes daylight savings, which may be why
you see the time reverting an hour.

hello,

I have the same issue on our macs.

Terminal Server is W2k3 and the GPO sets this to redirect to local
workstation time and it is working for all of our windows users in all
regions including Japan. our terminal servers are in GMT -8.

When the mac's connect using the RDP v 1.0.3 they are also in same time
zone- gmt -8 but in the terminal server it connects as GMT time or 8 hours
ahead.

This must be a bug with the RDP client not getting the time zone info to the
Terminal Server so any help or validation from Microsoft would help.

Also- Is an older RDP client for mac downloadable?

Omar
