I find the my laser printer (Samsung) always prints the last page first
on a 2 page job. Is it possible to print the 1st page first? What also
is odd is that in the Preview area it says 1 of 1 but its 2 pages. ??

That's a function of the printer driver. It's possible with a lot of
printers. You have to look through your options in the print dialog and
see if Samsung supports this for your model.

By the way, the concept of the defaulting to the last page first is that
the stack of paper will be in the correct order when you remove it all
at once from the printer. If a printer delivers the jobs printed side
up, they pages are in reverse order if the printing starts on page one.

Now, that's odd. Is this true of most all things you try to print or
just certain print jobs? Is this behavior associated with all apps or
just specific apps?

Yes they support it. But when I see the Samsung folder in Applications
there is nothing to open. And in Printing Preferences I don't see
anything either. Maybe its just a spartan driver with limited options.
I'll have to be wary of that when I replace this printer. I never
thought of comparing printer drivers. This field is all new to me.
I'll go over it again carefully later in case I missed anything.

I see your point. I print a lot of stuff that is in 2 pages. The
second page I never need so its kind of waste of paper, ink and time to
print double of what I need. But I'll check it again later. Thanks
Mike.

On the Print dialog box, there is a popup menu of sub-panels. On the
Paper Handling pane, there is a radio button group:

Page Order:
o Automatic
o Normal
o Reverse

You can control the order the pages come out using this.

I've just noticed this in printing. And I've never used any other
printer with this computer. I was experimenting and realized that often
I have zoomed the font larger for easier viewing. I wonder if this has
something to do with it in some situations.

I must have missed it. That's great news. Simple solution. So would
Reverse mode print the first page first? Somebody else said printing is
usually backwards so you end up with the 1st page on top of your stack.

Given the choice of "normal" and "reverse", wouldn't you expect one to
go in one order and the other to go in the opposite order? And, knowing
what the default is, shouldn't that tell you what "normal" means?

Because...

If the stack comes out of the printer face up, printing the first page
first will result in a print job in the output tray that's in reverse
order.

Thanks - I've been awkward with printing - probably because I hardly
ever print. Smile I'll play with it. Having the choice is great. Thanks
for the tips.
