What would cause a HP 5MP printer to output paper with a definite curl
to the paper? Had been producing printed output that was virtually flat.

This now happens whether I use the straight through or other output tray.

I'm using the same 20 pound paper as always. I bought a new pack of
paper to make sure it wasn't due to summer humidity and no difference.

Thanks for any info.

With "curl" you want to say that the paper seems to roll up, or is it
"folded" like a leporello?

If the first: it depends of many circumstances. Humidity (of the room
where the printer is and of the paper itself), direction of the fibres
in the paper (are they parallel to the long or to the short edge of the
paper - in German we call this "Laufrichtung"; I did not find the
english translation at this time).

If you have folded output, it's usually the last roller unit which is
dirty and needs cleaning or replacement to transport the paper properly.

OP responding.

Sorry for the confusion. It is as you would say, "roll up."

The HP 5MP had been producing flat output but now there is a definite
roll up to it. Paper and environment have not changed.

Didn't know if there are other parts other than toner that need to be
replaced after a certain number of copies.

Thanks.

In that case, your paper's fibres are in the "wrong" direction (or, you
are using the paper in a very high humidity environment). You have no
other choice than to try a different paper or change the location where
the printer is.

This is not a "standard " procedure to replace these rolls, but after a
big number of prints (several toner cartidges), these rolls tend to
become dirty from the paper dust and need to be cleaned or replaced.
