Post subject: Outlook Express will hang when I open the attachment

My computer is XP sp2
and when I use outlook express to send or recevice mail with attachment,then
is OK
however,when I open the attachment from the mail.it will hang,so I need to
save the attachment to computer and open it
Pls kindly advise us when I cannot open the attachment directly |

I have the same problem where OE hangs when I try to open an attachment. If I
reopen OE and do the same action it will often work but will fail on the next
attachment. It also hangs when I try to save an attachment.
This has only started over the last few days.
Anyone any ideas please.

Try Clearing the IE Temporary Internet Files (TIF). In IE: Tools,
Internet Options, General, TIF Delete Files. Be sure to check the
Delete All Offline Content in the pop-up.
When you open an attachment within OE, it places a copy in the TIF, so
problems with the TIF can cause problems with opening attachments.

I had already done that. That is usually my first point of call whena problem
arrises, but the problem is still there
