If you purchased Office for Mac, you should have Entourage - which is
Microsoft's email program (plus PIM features). Outlook Express for the Mac
has been discontinued.

Outlook Express is a very old program for OS 9, Classic, which your OS X may
not support, being on an intel chip.

Apple Mail, can import from MSOE files, if you need to use older emails and
addresses (import into Address Book).

I need to access Outlook Express remotely from my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.5.2), will Office Mac allow me to access that work email?

Are you sure it is "Express" that you are trying to access?
Rather than Exchange (a usual work email server) accessed via Entourage?
(Office 2004 Mac includes Entourage 2004, for use on OS X).

Outlook Express for Mac only runs in OS 9 or Classic,
which is no good for 10.5.x.

Outlook 2001 is a completely different application (for Classic, pre
Leopard).
