Hello,
I have OE 5.02 running on OS 9.2.2. An error message came up this morning:

Error:
A message in your Outbox could not be sent. The server did not recognize
the recipients.
Explanation:
permit denied
Error 5550

I successfully sent this person an email yesterday, using the *reply*
feature to an email I received from her. I received her reply to me this
morning and replied to her once again. Only this time I get this dumb
message. She is in my Address Book. This Error message seems to apply only
to this one email address; have been and am successfully emailing other
people all morning. I have tried deleting the address line and replacing it
by clicking on the entry in my Addrss Book. Help!

Hi Pam,

There could be a couple of things causing this. Do you know if you're able
to send mail to other people on the same e-mail domain? So, if this person
uses a yahoo.com address, can you send to other people on yahoo.com?

Is there anything else in your Outbox? If so, I would clear out all
messages and start again.

It's possible that your address book entry for the person is corrupt. You
could try deleting that entry altogether and manually entering his/her
e-mail address in your reply.

HTH,

Ricky

Hi Ricky,
AHA! I just tried to send an email to another HotMail subscriber and it
wouldn't go either. There was nothing else in the Outbox. Anything to any
other domain goes just fine. Also, the one from yesterday did somehow get
sent last night at 10:51, when I was shutting down my mac, even tho it still
said it couldn't be sent. So... what do I do now?

Hi Pam,

Strange, that sounds a bit inconsistent. One one hand, it seems that other
mails to Hotmail can't be sent, yet the original message did in fact get
sent, despite the error message that reported otherwise - very confusing!

Is the original message that you sent now showing up in Sent Items?

Could you get that other Hotmail contact to mail you so that you can try
replying to that mail?

HTH,

Ricky

Hi Ricky,
Actually, I'm now thinking this might be a Comcast problem which is causing
the error in the email program... it is so inconsistent that, later on
yesterday the email to the other HotMail subscriber went one of the times I
clicked send/recieve. Same thing happened when I replied to her reply as
well. Oh well... As long as they're going some time I guess that's got to be
good enough.
Thanks for your help.
Pam
