Hi Gamers:
I'd like to run some TADS adventures (Unnkulian 2...) on my Mac (running
10.3.9) without opening Classic. Various web sources say that it is
possible to compile a standalone version of such a game: a single file
that can be clicked to open the text window, and which can be passed on
to my young niece (who does not have Classic or the Developer Tools
files on her Mac, and can't find the system disks from which to load
them, and anyhow, isn't up to opening a Terminal window and typing in
the commands just to open the game).
I haven't much experience in installing Unix software, or running
programs other than emacs. I have installed the TADSv255-Darwin files
(tadsc, tadsr, tdb), but don't know where to go from there. Any
assistance will be greatly appreciated (by my niece, too); please be
very detailed in your instructions. (Teaching ME how to run the game
from Terminal would also be helpful.)
Thanks very much, in advance,
Susan Kayser
