How do I reinstall the Mail.app from Leopard? When I upgraded to Leopard
I tried opening an app called mail. It said not compatible with this OS.
I trashed it. It turns out that was my only copy. How can I get hold of
the Mail app for 10.5 by itself? Is there a way to install only mail
from the DVD? Thanks.

Pop in the Leopard DVD and use the optional install.mpkg. It will let
you reinstall the Mail.app. Great app.

I believe the Leopard installer will allow you to select components to
(re)install.

Pacifist should do it. I've not tried it with Leopard (yet) but according to
the website it's compatible with the OS. Pacifist sure has saved me a lot
of time since finding out about it. Think it was Michelle who first
mentioned the program to me (thanks) and I admit I never registered it as I
figured I'd never use it again after buying my new MacPro. But not that I
realize it's good for Leopard I'll pay my dues today Wink

Yes, that's a new installer feature introduced with Leopard. It would
have required Pacifist for Tiger and earlier OS X versions, but no
longer.

Sigh, well I just registered Pacifist but that's OK, I got enough use out of
it and likely will need it again for that old machine. Nice to know about
this Leopard upgrade as now I won't have to install something I don't need...
