Post subject: IFReviews.org website needs you!
Archived from groups: it>comp>giochi>avventure>testuali, others (more info?)

The original announce of the IFReviews.org project was on Thurs, Nov 18
2004 at 3:51 am.

You can read the original announce made at:

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.arts.int-fiction/browse_thread/thre...f4afcf7

Back then I stated that the core idea of this project was as follows:

"As we all know IF reviews are scattered all over the web, and this
newsgroups seems to be the only common place to find them (apart from 1
or 2 major reviewers own web pages) and as such I decided today to
create a special place to have them all together."

Today, after so much time, I'm announcing that the project goal remains
the same, and that it's officially ready for all of you to use!

Several active if community reviewers have been contacting me over the
last months, by email, asking if they could use the site to place their
own reviews, based on the fact that the project mentioned that the
reviews would/could be deleted after beta-testing was over, they were
afraid to do so.

Well, this weekend, the site was 'cleaned' and now all the ifreviews
that it contains are real ones, and I expect to see there, as time
permits, all of your own IF games reviews!

All IF game reviews are welcome to the ifreviews.org project, old, new,
aif, if games are available at the ifreviews database. Should you have
a review for a game not present, please let me know and I'll add it.

The registration process is quite fast, and instant. No need for
validation emails! Simply insert the name for which you want to be
known, your secret username/password, and your set! You can then login
right away and start adding your own ifreviews.

Every ifreview added to this project helps, not only the newer IF
players, but also all the oldest IF players, to get a better insight to
the games that they are planning on playing next.

All ifreviews, will remain copyrighted to their original reviewers!

There will be no personal profit whatsoever made out of this project or
ifreviews!

The Ifreviews.org project merely exists to gather under a single place
as many IF reviews as possible.

I sincerely hope that the IF community acknowledges the
personal/financial effort that was made to create this community
project and acts accordingly, participating/contributing actively.
Without this the project will eventually die, since it's up to the
ifreviewers to actively contribute.

No ifreview will be added to this project if not by the ifreviewer
itself! I will not add reviews as if that person added that ifreview!
Exceptions will be made ONLY for reviews of really old games where
contact with the review's author is not possible, and when the 'current
owner' of the reviews gives permission (as in the case of the EamonNag
games reviews) but even then the original reviewers will be credited
for those ifreviews. Special Username/passwords will be
generated in those cases, and handed out to the reviews author's should
they request them.

I would like to personally thank: Greg Boettcher, Peter Mattssons,
David Whyld and A Ninny, for all their kind support.

Please let me know, what you think can be improved in this project.

Your feedback is quite important!

Kind regards,
RootShell
