Help TV MiniHD EyeTV 250 captions aspect ratio

When recording from a digital or analog input device ( TV MiniHD or
EyeTV 250) I have no problem recording with eyeTV. The closed
captions showup with playback in EyeTV on the iMac. But when encoding
to DVD with toast, I lose the captions - they don't show up on playback
in a standalone DVD player.

Also, aspect ratio in, for example, a Globe Trekker program
recorded on PBS when encoded to DVD in toast doesn't fill up the 4x3 TV
screen but only a smaller box in the center. It looks fine on my iMac
Intel screen, fits it well but doesnt fill up the TV. How to get the
picture to fill the screen when encoding to DVD in Toast? Thanks.
