Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>advocacy, others (more info?)

I have two Happy Hacking Keyboard lite2 for the Mac that I think are
great. There is one minor problem. There is an intermittent problem
while using the keyboard either the Mac G4 (Tiger) or the Mac Pro
(Leopard) where it will switch to caps on. I try the function+tab key
which is the toggle for the caps on and off, but it won't shut the
caps key off. The unpleasant work-around has been to open another
application and continue to enter function+tab until it switches back
to normal, or I end up rebooting the Mac.

I wonder if initializing the USB port(s) on the Mac would correct this
instead of having to reboot?

Thanks!

Edward

1) This doesn't belong in any of the newsgroups you've posted to.
news:comp.sys.mac.hardware would have been better.

2) "initializing the USB port" on the Mac won't help, because that isn't
where the problem is.

3) When this occurs, have you tried re-initializing the keyboard by
unplugging it, waiting 10 seconds, then plugging it back in?

4) In System Preferences, the Keyboard and Mouse preference panel,
keyboard tab, there is a button: "Modifier Keys..." that will let you
map the Caps Lock key to "No Action". If you do that, does your keboard
still go into a bad state?
