Remove this font cache file:

~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office Font Cache (11)

Answer found on this page:

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/troubleshoot/crashes.html#crash44>

A search on the browser page for "click" show answers involving click.
You'll quickly see:

44) Problems after installing Leopard

1) Crash if click font color button

OS X 10.5.*6*? If that's accurate it could be the problem - Apple hasn't yet
posted any such update. 10.5.5 is the most current available, so if your
info is right you've somehow gotten hold of something that isn't valid.

Assuming that to be a typo, however, you're still quite a bit behind in your
Office updates. Office 2004 should be at 11.5.0, which is significant on the
Leopard OS. Unless that's a typo too you need to get Office updated, repair
disk permissions - and restarting your Mac probably wouldn't hurt either.

Just saw a post that it was released:

Apple's Mac OS X 10.5.6 Release Offers 36 New Fixes

<http://www.informationweek.com/news/hardware/mac/showArticle.jhtml?articleI
D=212500425>

Apple cautioned users to proceed cautiously with the update. "You may
experience unexpected results if you have third-party system software
modifications installed, or if you have modified the operating system
through other means," Apple said in a note on its Web site.

Yeah, but the first thing I did before responding was to check the Apple
Support & Download sites Smile As of that time the update had not been posted
& according to the InformationWeek article it wasn't released until Monday -
The message was posted a good 24 hrs prior to that.

Nonetheless, I don't think the OS X version itself is the source of the
problem - it's the disparity between the Leopard build & the Office 2004
update level that I suspect.
